Default Replacement Alternator Suggestions

Hi Forum Members.
I have a 1999 Honda Accord V6 and the alternator is going out after nearly 200,000 miles. I was wondering if any of you have some suggestions on what brand or make of alternator to replace it with and the part number, if you know it. The stock one is an AC Delco, but I have heard that they are not that good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would just replace with the cheapest available at AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts. The Duralast brand at AutoZone probably has a pretty good warranty. Their batteries have a lifetime warranty so I wouldn't be surprised if the alternators had a similar warranty.

I know that Checker (CSK) has Autolite alternators with lifetime warranties. Can't go wrong there.

You can't ever go wrong with a lifetime warranty! Plus the alternator is not catastrophic if it goes like the timing belt or water pump is. So don't waste your money on Honda OEM when the one they put in the car in the first place was a peice of crap. I'd go with the cheapest. Which will probably be either AutoLite or Duralast. Go to www.autozone.com and type in your zip code to see what is available in your area. I typed it in mine and it shows the Duralast alternator for you car is $145 if you trade in the old non working alternator when you buy it(core charge). Looks like autolite is a better deal though: http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...11&PTSet=A
$130.49 (after core charge)at advance auto parts with a lifetime warranty and a 2 year roadside service! It'll be tough to beat that!
