Default Starting Troubles

i just got a 1996 honda accord LX and it runs great. but it is having trouble starting.. it turns over just fine but wont start. or it will start for a second then bog out.. i don't think its the starter. it will turn over and over sometimes without starting. but if i push the gas down all the way itll do something weird for a min and then start up. but i have to turn the key and hold the gas down. it was sitting for 2 months with a quarter tank so could the fuel filter be clogged? or maybe the fuel pump just isn't working? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Once running how does it act? Just me but since you just got it, check the tune up items (cap, rotor, plugs, inspect wires) and throw a few gallons of fresh gas and a can of gas treatement of your choice in it.

Also check for stored codes in the ECU - many stores will do this for free, or at least check for the codes (ODB-I) using the service connector.
