To jump into it the car wasn't firing due to leaks in the spark plug valve tube seals and the valve cover gasket, which was depriving the spark plugs a spark do to oil in the spark plug wells. So, I replaced those gaskets, as well as my spark plug wires which fixed the problem. Then I was doing some more maintenance on the engine compartment and saw the unit shown in the attachment below which had its wires exposed so I disconnected them and reconnect them properly and now the car will not fire again. Turns over so it cant be the starter. Just wanted to get some insight on the piece shown below. Or any other suggestions that you may have. Thanks.

Welcome to HAF
I have moved this to general tech.
I'm forgetting more and more as I get older. Can you take another pic a bit further out and circle the area of where the first pic is. Looks like something on the trans but again I can't place it right off hand.

Haha Yeah, when I was changing out the tube seals and valve cover gasket it was off.
The thing that was confusing is it started up fine after I got that project all finished up. Just after I disconnected those wires it seemed to not fire.. Does anyone happen to know what that sensor-looking thing is?

That is the backup switch. However even if the wires going to it touched ground it won't cause the car not to start unless the fuse didn't blow and caused other damage.
It's a 10a fuse located in the driver side fuse kick panel in the bottom left corner.
