Default swap question please read

Ok guys here goes nothing. I had a friend pass away as a passenger in an accident. He owned an accord i had helped him with. When he passsed away he had blown his motor 2 weeks earlier. I had told him i would replace his hydrolocked motor. While in possesion of the car he had his accident. I fixed the car and took it to his birthday/memorial about a month later. His family didnt know what to think and aperantly there son had talked about me alot more then i could have imagined. They knew me without every realy meating me for a very long period of time. They decided to give me the car after everything was said and done. They said there son would have wanted it that way. I drove the car until i broke a camshaft on the highway by blocking an oil passage with sludge. (insert castrol commercial here) I have had the car parked for months now and its time to fix it. His dream was to put a vtec motor in, i want to do this for him and finnaly let the car go to someone else. I will have gone as far as i can. I no longer can keep the car around. Thanx in advance.

I want to do a motor swap with vtec. right now its an f22a non vtec S.O.H.C. i was thinking about putting in a jdm f23a or f22a. The car is a 92 accord five speed. i just want to buy a vtec motor that will bolt up to the cars existing parts. with as little cost as possible.

please help me out i have NO knowledge of this swap.i need to know how to run the vtec to selonoid if i can buy a mount kit or what parts ill need.

or you could do what I did

buy a new car with 260hp and add headers and intake for 30HP (headers) and 17hp (Intake). That tach needle hits 7100 before you can blink

yeah, it hauls butt

sorry to hear about your friend man.... I'd say the same as these guys go for an H22 swap, I believe f22parts.com has most of the stuff you'll need to pull it off and there is MASSIVE support online for it/how to do it since it's one of the more common swaps.

What about an F20B? Why doesnt that get any love? You can find them for $2500-3000, with five speed trans and LSD. Hmmm. How hard of a swap would that be, and whats the aftermarket like for that engine?

Nice post poser_pilot6, you have peaked my curiousity about this engine. According to the spec sheet from the site you posted it makes 215 hp and it is cheaper than a similar set up H22. I hope somone will fill us in on any catches/issues etc.

I just happened to see one on eBay (for $2500, I believe) and I wanted to see what it was. Torque sucks, but the horsepower is right for the money. Especially when it includes a five speed trans with LSD...
