Tranny Trouble...Please help!
[/align]Ok guys here goes, I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX with an automatic tranny. This afternoon while driving down the turnpike at about 70+mph, my car suddenly began to act as if it was in neutral (only it was still in drive). My car started to decelerate and my rpm's climbed as i pushed down on the gas pedal...so, I pulled over, restarted the car and everything appeared to be fine (the car accelerated like normal and ran normally). However, after work tonight, I went to drive the car again, and it did the same thing...now the speedometer is reading 0 and i cant seem to get the car out of first gear while driving...Does this sound mechanical or computer/electrical? Any ideas/help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

It sounds like it's in limp home mode and should have a CEL. Search DIY for hoe to pull the code and post it here.

RE: Tranny Trouble...Please help!
sounds like exactly what I went through a few times. If it starts getting worse/more frequent you'll need to rebuild that tranny or swap for a new one. I've found out that Honda a/t's arent the best if you drive hard at all, im in the process of looking to swap

RE: Tranny Trouble...Please help!
Please keep us informed.. I'm reaching 70k mi and wanna make sure I don't run into this problem (although I hear the 7th gen trannies are better than previous)...
I'm looking to do a tranny fluid change and add a Hayden 403 in ~7-8 mo, at which time i should break ~80-85k [EDIT] Can you guys include your mileage, as well as costs that you might have found? I'd assume to go through the dealer for the tranny parts, anyone have other suggestions? |
