Hi All-
I just got a new Accord 09 EX-L V6 with only 9 miles on the odometer. Are there any specific type of fuel grade I should use such as only Regular(87), Super(89), or Supreme (91)?
Also, should I be driving unders a certain speed for certain amount of miles before driving faster increasing the rpm?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

What does the manual say to use? Have you cracked it open yet?
EDIT: If I were you, I'd try to keep the rpm's below 4000 for the first 5000 miles. At 20k, I'd change the tranny fluid ...... or just look at the recommended maintenance chart in the manual.

Your car takes regular fuel, putting premium will gum up the valves do to unburnt fuel. Premium burns slower then regular. If you need to run premium you need to bump the timing. Like stated above dont beat on the car but you dont have to drive 55 mph. When breaking in a new engine the worst thing you can do is drive at on speed so avoid the cruise control for 1500 miles and you should be good. Good luck with your car.
p.s. These cars arent like years ago when you needed to break in an engine they are basicly ready to go right out of the show room.

^^^ not exactly true ..... notice that Honda uses special break-in fluids. the tranny and engine need to break in for about 5000 miles to ensure their full life ...... the shortened lifetime from not doing this is typically not noticed since the original owner usually does not own the car by the time the powertrain has issues.
That manual is there for a reason, try reading it. DO check the oil often. It is not unusual for a new engine to use some oil during the break in period, keep it topped off.

You'll find a lot more by reading threads on HAF than talking to the service manager ..... as the site gets fixed, some of the others on the top 10 list are starting to reappear. The DIY section is invaluable. Also, pay special attention to posts from Deserthonda, Sir Nasty, HondaDude, JimBlake, Chiocivica, RTexasF and a few others. Also, the regulars have read a ton of these threads, so they (and myself) can help with things that we've read or tried on our own cars. Then there are the professionals ....

I got my '98 Accord brand new, drove the car less than 70 mphand 1stoil changeat 2k(3k-4k there after), tranny fluid change at 25k (every 30k there after).Owner's manual is a good source, I'm fortunate to have a couple of friends that are mechanics. I am new to this forum and have found much useful information.
Car now has over 276k and still running strong, just replaced the original radiator last week, gonna need some new bushings soon for the suspension to.
Take care.
