v6 Advice
Hello everyone, i am here representing a friends car. Im more familiar with forums so i said i'd dive in for him.
The car is a 2004 honda accord 2 door EX 5 speed manual. 6cy
He is thinking about performance but hasnt made up his mind about his budget or what he wants to achieve... so lets just play around with the idea that he can save for something if he needs to. In my experience, a turbo is always more cost effective, correct me if i am wrong with this particular car.
I told him that one option is I/H/E/Cams & a tune. Also, another would be a turbo + tune.
All other mods like suspension are being taken care of, this thread im just worried about power. Im starting from the ground up so give me all your opinions between these two options or provide other input if you'd like. Throw some items & prices at me and lets get started
By the way my name is Erik,
Thanks!

I doubt you're going to find too many folks chiming in here, V6 engines, by the nature of the beast, are much more difficult (and expensive) to breathe on compared to the same car with an I4 motor under the hood.
As a general statement, folks who want to bump the power of their cars shop first for a car with the I4 motor and then do their mods; folks who want more stock power than the I4 can offer, but who have zero intention of modifying the engine are best served by buying a car with a V6.

I don't believe anyone makes a specific turbo for the V6. There maybe universal ones out there for it.
In regards to engine mods, there are quite a few V6 owners that added the P2R (PowerRevRacing) ported intake manifold runner and the P2R thermal intake manifold gasket. The ported intake manifold runner is a new Honda intake manifold runner that is ported by P2R. Check out Throwdown Performance.
There's the ATLP J-Pipe for the V6. Some people pair that with a test pipe or a high-flow cat. There are also others makers of J-Pipes. -- Check out sellers like Heeltoeauto.
