try it again with the AC on... some cars disable the AC compressor (throw the clutch in) when accelerating quickly... it might be the bearings in the compressor hurting...

could be the alternator,, Honda had a few issues with v6 alternator ( delphi made ) junk......
start engine. have a friend rev it up till it makes the noise, get a long screrwdriver and put it on places where you think the noise is coming from and the handle on your hear, this will help pin point where the noise is from

, MAKE SURE NOT TO STICK IT IN ANY ROTATING PARTS .....

i had a similar problem, your throttle is probably 1/8-1/4 of the way down and it stops if you let off or push harder? almost a vacuum related issue, although i can't seem to remember how i fixed mine, i just remember realizing it stopped

do like desert said and try to pinpoint where it is coming from.... It may also just be a loose or worn belt.... get it to a position where you can hear the noise and try to find it, if you can't then turn the car off and check to see if the belt is cracked/worn/glazed and/or loose, if it's bad replace it, if it's loose just tighten it and that may solve your issue too.
