Default 01 Accord CEL

Hi gang! I have this chic that has an '01 Accord Coupe V6. She threw a CEL about 3 months ago. Inspection time came around, and luck-of-the-draw, it failed. So the place she had it taken to ran the codes, and it came up with P0401 and P1426. Anybody know where I could find out what these codes mean??? Many thanks for any suggestions!

Default RE: 01 Accord CEL

P0401 is code for "insufficient EGR flow". It usually means carbon buildup in EGR valve and passages downstream from EGR valve and penetrations of EGR passages into the intake manifold. Accessing and cleaing can be difficult on V6 (no experience myself). Find a post by Finch13 and search for EGR repair on this site. Use google to search www.

I don't think P1426 is the correct code. Perhaps a hearing or writing error if someone gave them to her. P1456 is a common fault for evaporative emission control system (vaccum leak detected).

good luck
