if you are going to remove the pump to replace the screen you might as well replace the pump. the screen isn't very great, just enough.

The check engine light came on yesterday and I had multiple misfire codes. I have brand new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor button, and 02 sensor. It is still shaking and shuddering, and will not accelerate when gas is depressed. Any ideas?

I had a 91 oldsmobile that hadsimilar symptoms. There was a magnet on the crankshaft that the crankshaft position sensor read, and that magnet flew out,I foundthe piecesofitin the oil pan.
When the magnet came out, the engine ran on default settings, and would hesitate when you gave her gas, had trouble in the high rpms, and suffered an all around power loss. I replaced the magnet, and she ran great.

Don't know if this helps.

Finally the problem is solved. I replaced all four injectors and she is as good as new.
