Default 02 LX Loose Brake Splash Guards

I have an issue with the splash guards that are located immediately behind the front brake rotors. After several years the salt has rusted them to the point where they are loose and rattle. I believe the only way to remove and replace them is to remove the front hub.

What is involved with front hub removal? Has anyone attempted this? Is there another way to remove the splash guards?

I would suggest purchasing a shop manual for your accord. I found one on ebay in pdf form that was $21 and was worth every penny.

I think that you have to remove the hub/bearing to do this.

The bearing on an 02 is pressed into the knuckle, which means that you will need to remove the knuckle to do this, and take the parts to a machine shop that has a press to do this stuff. A DIYer can remove the knuckle. I am not sure what you would need to press out the bearing/hub with basic tools.
