Default '03 Accord LX-Maintenance Light

Howdy-

At around 39K miles, the maint. light on my '03 Accord LX (4cyl) started flashing 10X at every start up, then would turn off. Now at 40K miles, the light stays on. I called the dealership and of course they gave me the canned answer that I need to bring the vehicle in for 10K service and reset the coding.

Is there any way that I can reset the light myself? On the older Hondas, thought you could hold in the odometer **** while cranking the ignition. This method doesn't seem to work on my vehicle.

Feedback is appreciated.

I believe that unless the changed it there is a slot that your key fits into just to the left of the light that resembles a recessed odometer reset switch... just push it in and hold it down for liek 15 seconds (your key fits right in to hold it down...)

the 6th gen and 7th gen cars use the same procedure. The 5th gen and earlier (pre 1998) use the older insert the key method.
