Default 04 Accord Steering wheel Controls Non OP

Hi all,

My son has a loaded 2004 accord V6. It recently went in for a tranny rebuild as the internal lube solenoid failed and smoked it. Since we have gotten it back, he said the horn does not work. I have been out of town and not available to help them, but now my wife says that the audio controls and cruise control are not working either.

They initially checked the horn fuse, and it appears to be okay. Now I am wondering if there is something the tranmission place forgot to re-connect something after their work.

As side note, my son set off the alarm, which caused the horn to honk, so it looks like it is something directly tied into the steering column.

Thanks for your help!!

It's possible transmission shop left a body ground loose or disconnected. Only way to know is look at motor mounts and rear of engine for loose grounds.

good luck

And to add to what TX posted, be sure to check the fuses, not just underdash but underhood as well, check owners manual.

Default ooops.

does the audio work at all? If not it could be an under hood main fuse. The only thing the trans shop could have done is as suggested already or they left the battery connected before removing trany or reconnected it to power the windows up. either way may have caused the starter cable to short to ground. This could blow the 80 amp main fuse. I believe , however, there would be other stuff not working. You may just have not discovered them yet.
