Default 04 Accord Wiper and Pump Not Working

About 2 months ago, not really sure, I noticed no washer fluid would come out. Yesterday I went to leave in a rain storm and the wipers would not turn on. I checked all the fuses and they seem fine and I took out the wiper motor and connected it to an external battery and the motor turned on. There also was constant power at the motors wire harness - I think for all but 1 terminal.

When I turn on the wipers or ask for fluid with the switch, I can hear the relay switch firing but nothing happens.

I've not even really looked at the fluid motor yet but I'm not sure where to look next for the wiper motor.

I feel like its probably the switch on the steering wheel but since the relay fires I'm not sure why it would be the switch.

198k miles, LX 4cyl.

Any help would be awesome.

Steve

This is going to be fun.

Sounds like either the relay control module or the switch.

The testing in the shop manual is complex.....so I hope you have some time.

Is this a 2 or 4 door? The pins on the motor are a bit different between the 2 and 4 door.

Can you re-check the terminals for power and ground with the key on and the wiper set to Low speed.

Using this pic - which what terminals have what (power, ground, nothing).

Maybe that didn't answer your question correctly. How do I tell the difference between ground and nothing. Electrical is not my strong suit

Thanks

Your voltmeter should measure resistance as well as voltage, find the proper setting - The two leads touching each other will read something like "1" and when not touching "0". "1" means you have continuity, complete circuit. "0" means open.

On pin #1 - (BLK wire I think - hope) I'd like to see if it has continuity to ground. So one test lead to the wire and the other to the body - try to find an unpainted place. Looking for a "1" or something close to it.

"Nothing" = means no voltage and no continuity to ground......sorry should have defined that....my bad.

Voltage on #2 and #5 - did you have the wipers on High/Fast?

BTW - I HATE ELECTRICAL so don't feel bad.

Ok I set my meter to beep when the circuit closed and retested. 3 and 4 beeped on high. 1 and 3 beep on low. Intermitent was 1 and 3 as well

Looks like 3 is black.

That voltage was with it set to low. If set to high I get the same readings.

Thanks!

Ok, that is 1, 3 and 4. What are 2 and 5?

#2 GRN - should be hot with key on/pos II - if not, break in wire or #11 30amp underdash fuse is suspect.
