Default 04 Honda Accord EX

First thanks for having an Accord forum! Also glad to see I am not the only one having this issue.

Both of my map lights quit working when the doors are open. They will work when switched on. However the rear dome light and the door lights work when the doors are open and fade off after the doors are shut. I have done the following:

Once bulbs were checked. I removed the "map light housing" (Proper name for this would be great so I can get part#) removed the green and grey connectors. I cleaned the white switch connectors that you tap to turn lamps on/off. I removed the part that houses the amber light in it and looked at the door/off switch to see if there were any loose connection from what I could tell none. I put it back together checked the ground screws making sure they were tight. Nothing seemed to work.

Again rear dome lights works when door opens and this IS and EX model that when I first received it the drivers side map light worked and the passenger worked sometimes.

Does this sound like I need to replace that entire unit? Is so what is it called so I can acquire part# to order online?

Thanks!

from the diagram it looks like the map light circuit runs through the homelink module, do you have the homelink? the regular dome circuit does not run throught the homelink module...i would suspect it, of course if it is equipped with one. changing out the map light assy. won't solve your problem.

No I do not have home link. Does your diagram happen to have a part number for the assembly?

See this thread for part number, etc.:

https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...working-47075/

It should be the same part number for your car.
