that year 07 has a spidle nut and dust cap. my 08 does not have a spindle at all. I looked at the link and for an 08 it shows the correct hub with ears and thier price was $118. I need to get my money back from rock auto and then go to the link you gave me. thanks for that link the prices are pretty good for oem honda parts.

I just ordered one from the local honda dealer. went thru my buddys body shop and it dropped from $182 down to $121.

Angelo, do you mean that AllDataDIY has the old-style listed for 2008? Maybe that mistake filters down to the independant parts suppliers?

I had that problem with my 95 Integra rear brake rotors. Suppliers all listed the GSR taking the same brakes as the Type-R which was not correct.

thanks a lot for all the help. the first parts blow up that jim showed was for an 08. I am starting to think this new design for 08 is a weak link like the rear brake pads. I am definitly going to open the box up tomorrow at my honda dealer to see if it is correct. heard back from rockauto and the skf rep told them I must have a late 08 build car. nope we got this car about 2 months after they started selling. called honda's 800 number and they won't do a thing. kept on repeating it is outside the 36,000 mile warranty. wouldn't even sell me the part at honda cost.

There's any number of reasons why a wheel bearing will fail early. Can't warranty everything, so I guess it's just bad luck. Doesn't seem like a popular problem for a zillion other owners.

As far as an early or late 2008, there should be a sticker in the door-jamb with the month it was built. They typically start mid-year, so the first 2008s probably rolled out of the factory in say June or July 2007.

Sounds normal. When you walk into the auto parts stores you notice all those big catalogs on the counter? Well, one half, ususally the front half, is labeled "wrong parts". That is the first book they look in. When you return, they look in the back of the book that is labeled "right parts". 8-)

really different than other hubs I have seen. everything sealed and super easy to take apart and reinstall

I'm certanly no mechanic but isn't that a pretty new car to be replacing that???:confused:

the hub bearing started making noise at 45,000 miles and I changed it at 50,000. I think this should last at least 100,000 miles or more so i'm not too happy about it. like jim said in earlier post bearings fail for whatever reason so I gues I got one with a short life. now get this the new hub I got at my honda dealer has no warranty at all. since I got it off the shelf and put it on myself no warranty is written about 6 different places on my reciept. my wife drives the car 99% of the time and 95% of the miles are all highway miles. I hope this is not typical for all 08 and on up.
