08 Accord V6 Transmission

I have 94k miles and started to notice vibration while accelarating through first gear (automatic tran). It goes away after gear change. This does not happen on downshifting. I am nervous, being a victim of the '01 bad transmission (died at 160k miles). It feels like driving over a bumpy road. Any ideas?

Someone told me this could be a computer chip issue and the only way to fix is run the car out at about 90mph to reset the computer... hmmm

Any success with yours Soccerdad? I have the same problem as you on my 08 V6 auto. Mine was due to go in yesterday for a change of transmission fluid only. I say 'only' because they were not previously able to find anything wrong with it, which is great, but on the other hand I would rather know what is causing this. redbull-1 and some of the other members posted some very helpful suggestions on here.

That's great. Good luck with that. Mine now goes in next week so it will be interesting to hear what feedback you might have.

Service update

Had the 90k mile service performed. They checked transmission, all suspension parts and tires. No issues were found except tire pressure being a bit low (not enough to trigger the TPMS light). When replacing the spark plugs, they were a little fouled (94k miles) but nothing severe. The tech seemed to feel this may be contributing to the "stumbling". Transmission fluid was changed out but did not look unusually dirty. In driving the car home, it definitely felt fine and I did not notice. Maybe it was the spark plugs not firing clean.

Guess I will continue being a loyal Honda owner :D for a while (I own 4 Hondas)

Let me know how your checkup goes.

Hey, that's great news. Thanks for posting. I can live with new spark plugs or change of transmission fluid... if indeed my car responds to that treatment of course. Let's hope it does. Someone else has just responded on the thread I started, and it appears they have exactly the same problem as I do. If it's OK with you, I will copy and paste your last message in my reply to him. I will still be sure to update everyone on how my own car situation unravels too.
