1989 Accord LX Blower Motor
While trying to replace the blower motor in my 1989 LX, the blower motor seems to have gotten stuck. I removed the 3 screws holding it in place, and it dropped down about a quarter of an inch, but will not come out any further. Is there something I am missing? Maybe a nut connecting the motor to the fan?
From what I have read in my Haynes manual and online, it seems like it should just slide right out.

It looks to me if you remove the motor at it's own triangle flange, then the blower (squirrel-cage) is too big to fit down through the opening. Do you have to undo the clips (#4) and open up the whole box?
I never owned a 1989, so I hope Poorman212 chimes in. He likes those cars.

hmmm...I tried turning/twisting it...but it didn't work at the time...I will try it again with a little more force...
yes thats the motor but to remove it you have to remove it sqirrel cage and all
you will see the motor bottom which is about 3" in circumference hanging down but it is part of a mounting plate that is about 7" in circumference almost round and held in by 3 screws
after you remove the 3 screws it will kinda drop down but you have to turn it a bit to get it out of the hole in the blower case
the best way to understand would be to get a new part and you will see excatly what it looks like
and its not a waste because you now know thats what the problem is

Traveling so I don't have pic's and that.
Let me see if I can type it out. Thru the Rec door you can get to the nut that hold the cage to the motor. The trick-killer part of this- is getting the nut started back on the new motor.
