Default 1989 LXi CEL

When you check the check engine light on a 89 Honda Accord LXi is there going to be an initial blink on the ECU under the driver seat before sending the code?

Like I said in the PM. No, there is nothing but the code. So if you are getting one blink, pause, one blink again. Then you have a code 1 error which is an "Oxygen Content A" issue - the LXi's have two O2's - A and B.

Many things can throw off O2's - exhaust leaks are just one and these seem to like to "bust" the studs on the exhaust manifold - I've lost more than four studs on the different ones I've had over the years.

On a Subaru Forester, I lucked out and cured a recurring CEL by using a new gas cap. $10 at NAPA.

On an OBD-0 car a gas cap isn't going to solve any code.
