Default 1992 accord transmission computer

need to change transmission computer, got one from junk yard and it shifted 1, 2,3,and fourth gears and the drive 4 light went to flashing and no lock up occured, put in a second one and it shifts but hangs on a little long, also the drive 4 light will not come on when in drive 4. i was not able to find a tcu with the exact numbers as the old one, can anybody tell me what these numbers reresent and what will work in the car, it is a 92 LX . im thinking maybe im not getting the right unit. thanks

Check car-part.com. They indicate only 92-93 Accords are donors.

Suggest also googling for "honda transmission computers". I seem to remember a cross-reference site. Also there are places that will rebuilt your original for a reasonable fee.

good luck

figured out after a lot of reserch that the 90 91 models will not work, only 92 and 93 dx and lx, ex and se will not so im told, two numbers i know will work for anybody that wants to know is 28100-pxo-721 m1 3 lx or the 722, the 722 seems to shift better. when you see the fr 4 light on steady no matter what gear you are in and the car will not shift the tcu is where to look whaen it shows no faults. i also had a problem with the main fuel realay wiring, bad solder joints in the pigtail, one wire supplies a voltage to the tcu and can make the transmission go nuts. just thought id pass this along.

I need some opinions on my 92 Honda Accord. It only has 44k miles on it. It sat for a long time and was not drove. I have driven it some but it's starting to give me problems. All of my fluids are fine. It spits and sputters. My check engine light is on my D4 light is staying lit up no matter if my car is in park reverse neutral or any other gear. I can take off in D1 and shift up to D2 but that's as far as it will shift. It doesn't want to shift into D4 where the overdrive will kick in, it's staying stuck in second. Sometimes it will shift over and other times it won't. Sometimes it shifts up and down on it's own going down the road. I have checked the transmission fluid and it's fine. Some people have told me that my transmission is going out and others tell me that it's my transmission computer. Sometimes I will hear popping and clicking all through my dash and where my shifter is. This car is going to be the death of me!!!!!!!!!! Anyone know a good place to take it or know of a " Honda man" ? I can't afford to spend a arm and leg on this car.

20+ year-old cars often get that way. A good page for your car's trans problems:

techauto(dot)awardspace(dot)com/transmission.html

Good luck.

Get the codes....the D4 light staying on, the car is trying to tell you what is going on. Listen to it.

Get the codes and let us know what it/they are and we can go from there.

Hola, el problema radica en la computadora, es muy seguro que tiene algunas piezas quemadas, te sugiero habrás la computadora de la transmisión y cambies lo que se vea en mal estado, esto es típico en este modelo, saludos
