My son in law's car was running great when parked in aftnoon, that night went to start and no crank, just click.

A Battery Load/Draw Down gave me these results. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Battery negative to motor - 0.0
Trying to start - -.04

Battery positive post to starter positive post - 12.5
Trying to start - 12.2

Battery positive post to Battery positive post clamp - 0
Trying to star - 0

Positive post to cable - 0
Trying to start - -.01

Battery negative post to solenoid B&W wire (Mitsuba) - 12.51
Trying to start - 1.64

Curious about what the solenoid reading indicates.

Yea that one has me confused as well. The BLK/WHT wire going to the solenoid should only have voltage when trying to start the car.

So neg post on battery to solenoid connection without trying to start - 0 volts. For giggles, run a wire from that battery positive post (+) to the solenoid.

Also, measure the voltage on the large cable - big cable on starter, put the pos lead there. Put the neg lead to the neg (-) post of the battery.....measure at rest and when trying to start.

"Sounds" like either a bad battery, connection or starter.

 

Have battery tested, but seems to be holding adequate voltage.

Make sure battery connections are clean/tight.

If starter only clicks, the starter solenoid contacts are worn. Some Honda's are repairable (solenoid can be opened) and some are sealed and starter must be replaced.

Tried the wire from bat pos to B&W, no giggles. Reading when checking bat neg and pos cable connect at starter - 12.5 at rest, bottomed out at 11.99 holding the key to start position.

 

Reworked battery posts and clamps and pos connection to starter. no change.

 

Sorry, some of your voltages make no sense.

Battery + to Starter +, should be 0V the whole time (or very close).

Battery - to Starter blk/wht wire should be 0V with key off. 12V with key in start position.

Do you have an assistant? Also, do you have a jumper cable?

How about from the battery (-) post to the small black/white wire on the starter? Be careful you don't touch the big (+) wire at the starter (sparks...)

Voltage to solenoid looks low for such a small amp draw. This suggests discharged battery hence advice to have battery tested. Voltages don't tell much since starter is not turning over (small load).
