Default 1993 Accord leaking coolant from block

1993 Honda Accord LX

Leaking water from hole on the back of the block on the drivers side. I thought it was the heater hose but when I raised the car I saw water coming out of the small hole. The hole looks like a small screw hole but is not threaded. Anyone know what this hole is intended for and can I just put a screw in it as a band-aid?

Anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

I took a picture to help explain the location.

That is the weep hole for the water pump. The fix is to replace the water pump. If your timing belt is due, then get the timing belt and water pump replaced.

Thanks for the quick answer! I've been driving it like that for a few days and keep topping off the water. Is it safe to drive it to work tomorrow or am I just asking for trouble?

Kinda asking for trouble, but it might take a little while before something happens. There's 2 bearings (with 2 seals) for the waterpump. That hole is from the space between the 2 bearings. Leaking out that hole means the 1st bearing is already wet with antifreeze. It's gonna be corroding, and at some point the waterpump bearing will either get loose or seize.

If it gets loose it makes a rattling noise as the impeller hits against the pump casing (part of the cylinder block). If it seizes, it can throw off your timing belt (worse yet).
