Default 1994 honda accord ex won't start! help!

I bought a 94 honda accord ex with about 84,000 miles on it. For the first 2,000 miles that it was driven it was fine. But then, it started to only start half the time i would go to try and start it, it would just keep cranking but not start up... I could come back to it a few hours later and it would start. But eventually it got worse and would only start every other day... then eventually not at all. It will continuously crank but not start. My one buddy said it could be a fuel problem, and said to try and replace the fuel filter. If anyone has any information that could help me it would be greatly appreciated, i'm trying to get it started myself!!!

Are the maintenance items up to date like distributor cap, distributor rotor, spark plugs?

Does the check engine light turn on for about two seconds when you first turn the key to the II position and do not try to start the car? During the time the CEL is turned on do you hear the fuel pump prime? It is a faint buzzing/whirling sound that comes from the back seat so turn off the radio, blower, etc and listen carefully?

Does the check engine light remain turned on after all the clicks finish? Have you checked for any error codes?

Just curious as fuel pump failures are rare. You checked the main fuel relay and it was fine, but still no fuel pressure or how was fuel pump problem determined?

thanks
