Default 1995 ABS problem

Honda Accord EX 95. My ABS light comes on 10 seconds after I start the car, it will stay on constantly. I used to hear the pump motor run, but it does not anymore. I checked codes, I got 1 flash, (ABS light )then a pause, then one more flash, then after five seconds or so I got 2 quick flashes.I check for 12v at the pump motor connectorand the voltage is there. Any help please? thanks alot.

(I made the title more descriptive... Jim)

Welcome new member...

Looks like ABS code 1-2 for ABS pump motor failure.

I'm gonna move this to the general-tech area because this new-member area is mostly for non-technical greet & intro threads. You'll probably get more help over there.

Just to clarify when you turn on/start the car you don't EVER hear the abs motor run/build pressure but there is power to it?

Jkilla, yours can't possibly have the same thing. The 2002 Accord has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ABS system. Yours doesn't have a separate fluid reservoir & pressure accumulator. I'd start a new thread about that to avoid confusion.

reservoir is full.. if low on fluid you might have the typical dreaded ABS modulator leak ..

Yes, I can have someone start the car while I put my hand over the pump, motor and reservoir and nothing no action,no noise, no movement. But the ABS light goes on and stays on.

Is it possible to rebuilt the pump? Or the motor? Could taking the valve apart and clearing all the ports help?

Yes, the reservoir is full and there has never been a leak at or around the ABS pump, reservoiror the surrounding area. Any tips on how I can T/Shoot this from scratch. I'm fairly good on electrical TS. Could there be a posibility of the ABS module beign at fault? Thanks

You have to take the modulator out of the car, which means disconnecting all the brake fluid tubing.

The official story in the Helm repair manual seems to be that you replace the entire modulator unit, but it also seems Honda sells parts. #2 is the pumpmotor, it mounts from below the unit.
