1995 Honda Accord EX V6 not starting

I’ve got a 95 Accord which isn’t starting. When I turn the key, the dash lights will come on and I can hear the solenoid click, but I don't hear the starter at all. Also, every once in a while when I turn the key there is no power at all. I first tried replacing the battery with a known good one and that made no difference. If I turn the key extremely slowly it will start maybe once every 10 or 15 tries and run fine. When I turn the key and hear the starter the car starts instantly.

I ended up replacing the ignition switch both electrical & lock as well, but am still having the same issue. When replacing the battery I saw quite a bit of corrosion on the positive battery cable terminal which I removed with a wire brush. Perhaps a bad positive ground cable? Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks for the help,
Josh

If you always hear, without fail, the starter solenoid click and the starter doesn't crank then either bat is low,wiring/connectors in starter circuit or starter is intermittent.

Since you have a new bat, verify that the positive and negative wiring/ connectors( grounds to frame included) are clean/tight. If these are good that leaves the starter solenoid/starter as the problem.

possible battery connection

I had some of the same symptoms. Realized that my negative batter cable was loose and somewhat corroded. A quick tighten and cleaning of the terminals worked well. You could also check and see if there's water in the chambers of the battery. Don't know if that would be a definite cause though. Good luck

When you wire-brushed the battery cables, did you take off the clamp & clean the actual surfaces that clamp together at the post?

How about loose/dirty/corrosion at the OTHER END of the battery cables?
