did u recently do a tune up??

perhaps your firing order for the spark plug wires are in the wrong order
oorr.. your not firing on all 4/6 cylinders.

imo i would guess that your timing is off but its not a valve tap issue, as its most likely related more towards ur spark plugs. pull the wires out 1 at a time and see if they are wet/oil/dry etc.

Thank you soo much for your reply! I already suspected timing belt issues but i wanted a second opinion, i have ordered a timing belt/water pump kit and it should be here today!! thanks again!

If Check Engine Light is on, get the codes. See DIY forum for instructions.

good luck

Maybe phantom was talking about spark timing, not timing belt. But still, that's another possibility.

What engine? The V-6 car is so much different from the 4-cyl (especially 95-97) that I wish they had called it something else not Accord.

Check engine light??

Rotate engine to TDC (isolated timing mark on crankshaft pulley) and remove upper timing belt cover to inspect (valve cover must be lifted). Sprocket has an arrow that should be pointed up and horizontal marks between cogs that should be pointed at back side of timing belt cover.

Alternatively remove distributor cap and check that rotor is pointed to #1 tower.

If timing is good, problem is most likely spark plugs, spark plug wires, or distributor rotor/cap fault.

good luck

Wow, bummer. But that's the 2nd time I've heard of that happenning with a F-series engine.
