Default 1996 Honda Accord 140,000 miles WOBBLE at all speeds

My 1996 Accord has aslow wobble with any forward movement to a rapid vibration at speed. Obviously speed dependent. Such a wobble at slow speeds would rule out an alignment issue, no? I have not hit any curbs or any large potholes. It just started one day, very faint. Now it is worse.

Thanks in advance.

Ok I had both front tires off and visually inspected everything and things (ball joints, tie rods, cv boots) looknormal. I am thinking its the tires because I swapped the front two wheels/tires and went for a short drive and it feels to be a slightly different wobble.

Any other thoughts?

on our DIY section there is a write up .. cannot recall what page,, but if you scroll around you will find it .. it still sounds like tires to me ( broken ply)

Thanks! Did a search before posting and nothing came up under "wobble" or "vibration" my apologies.

Did you try wobbling the wheel with it on the car, but off the ground? There are a lot of possibilities, but I think that the most likely are ball joints or tires like DH mentioned. Could be as simple as wheel weights.

A quick and huge thanks to the heads up on the tires. Achem's (sp?) razor I was looking at all the suspension and front tires/wheels. Turns out when I decided to swap the rears to the frontto see if the wobble goes away, I noticed the rear driver's side tire has a HUGE bulge in it. Big time. I'm not even going to drive it to the tire shop. I took all four off and will take them down to have four new tires replaced. Acquired the car when I married my wife so I have no idea how old the tires are. She purchased the car used.

Thanks again.

Glad it's nothing more serious.
