Default 1996 low beam headlights

Its been a long time since ive been on but im back and i wanted to ask and get advise on a headlight issue, my low beams are just no good i question if my headlights are even on half the time and ive been doing alot of looking and researching on what i can do to fix this. I have to change out my headlights any way and im debating on if i should get some regular headlights with a bright bulb or get a set of halo/projector headlights and some hids. If i get hids im not looking to get any colors over 6000k i just want something bright and visible. So ideas? advise? Opinions?

Low beams are "just no good"... what's that mean exactly?

Aimed wrong?

Hazy lens? Get a polishing kit.

Reflector lost it's silvering? New or junkyard headlamp.

by "just no good" i mean they are aimed correctly and everything is fine with them but they put off such low light output that sometimes i cant even tell if they are on or not

HIDs will definitely brighten it up. But good thinking on getting projectors because HIDs in stock housings can be overly bright to oncoming drivers.

Retro fitted stock headlights obviously look the best but aftermarket projector headlights are definitely cheaper.

Well projectors with halogens are terrible. but with HIDs will definitely improve visibility.
