Default 1997 accord 2.2 engine question

just bought a accord with with the f22b motor and did some research on it to find out the f22a is a vtech and was wondering what all it what take to do a conversion to the vtech. is it a major engine swap or is it a simple head and wiring job?

Wikipedia has an excellent page on Honda F engines. Check your upper timing belt cover: it should have a sticker showing the engine type. You'll need an ECU in addition to a head and wiring to convert to VTEC.

F22b non vtec? I think you have them backwards. I have the f22b1 in my 94 and it IS vtec. The f22a are non vtec engines. Look here to see all the specs for the f series engines. Honda F engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

F22B1 were VTEC and F22B2 were not VTEC.
