Default 1997 accord problem

Have a 1997 Accord and speedometer/odometer does not work. I also have another post with power windows not working. Is there a chance this is tied together?

Thanks

you have been here for a while - I am sure you know how to use the search feature.

VSS problems is what causes the speed / odo to stop working

Windows not working would not be related.

Before replacing anything, does the cruise control work? Does the check engine light turn on while driving?

Back to same problem, Speedo went out after driving it couple miles down the down, changed out sensor, worked then quit.

Does the cruise control work when your speedometer stops working?

sounds like a bad wire at the VSS connector.

Or as PA Honda is going for, bad circuit board on the cluster.

+1 This would have been the best approach first.

+1 Second approach again comes back to:

Just to add a little more, PAhonda's questions were essentially to find out whether the problem is related to the VSS or the speedometer head (e.g., the printed circuit board). How you answer the questions (regarding the symptoms) should help narrow down which area is the cause.

I just got back in, Yes Cruise control works regardless if speedo is out. Drove it down the road and started to work again. I'll check connector at sensor
