1997 Honda Accord
I have a 97 Accord that was run thru some water. It got water in the oil, transmission, air filter and carpet. It would start the 1st couple of days after but would not stay running. Then it would not start at all. I found the fuel pump was not working. I replaced the main relay and the fuel pump works now but the engine does not turn over. The dash lights come on but when you turn the key to start it, nothing happens. No click or anything. I do notice when I turn the key on and the dash lights come on the green circle around the d4 comes on for a couple of seconds then goes out. It seems like I'm trying to start it when it's in gear. That's how it acts to me. You turn the key, everything looks pretty normal but when you go to start it nothing. I replaced the ECU because the carpet got wet but the car still wont turn over. Anybody got any ideas what to do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Connections look fine. I wonder if this is my trouble area. When the car stopped turning over, I also lost my power locks and the security light quit blinking. Anybody know what controls the power door locks and security system?? I think that may be what has my car shut down.

It is next to the radio. It's a little black rectangle with a red light in the middle. It says security. As far as I know it is a factory alarm. The fobs do not work also. I cannot set off the panic alarm. It's like it is dead.

I believe that is aftermarket and may be your no crank problem

It could be an aftermarket system. It sure looks stock to me. It is above the radio compartment. On the left hand corner is the hazard button and the right hand corner is the security light. Did the 97's come with original security alarms? Fobs?

The Honda Factory Security System in my 97 LX is located below the steering wheel at the bottom of the dash. It has a small antenna on it and a switch that controls how the alarm behaves. I would be looking for blown fuses or a bad connection.
