Everyone seems to forget he's in Europe, and has a F20 DOHC engine. There's plenty of hiding places in that engine for oil to hide.

My TSX shop manual has a 1.1L difference between rebuild and refill capacity. So we can assume his values are correct.
There are places the oil can hide, like oil filter, pooling the cylinder head. There is also the surface area of the entire engine that has a thin coat of oil. The casting is not flat, so that may be enough to take up the 1.1L difference. |
