Default 2000 Accord question

OK, my son and I are installing a new transmission in the car. We have it installed and are hooking up the last of the wires when low and behold we have a broken connector and all I can do is describe it.

It has two quick connectors that each have two wires. One is brown and the other is black. It appears that the two connectors go in to a piece that got broken. The piece might be shaped like a U with one side brown and the other black. Why is there a piece like this and can any one help with what it is called or how to find a replacement? Does any one have any idea what I am talking about? This item sits on top of the transmission fairly close to the starter. Thanks!

Is this a 4 or 6 cylinder?

This is an image for some sensors on the 4 cylinder automatic. Is it the connectors for the linear solenoid?

You can try a salvage yard or there is always the dealer.

This is a 6 cylinder 3.0L. Honda dealer is 300 miles away and our salvage yard probably has not heard of Honda yet.

Thanks for attempting to help me. I don't really believe this is a tranny related but it is part of the harness of wires that rest on top of the tranny.

Could you post some pictures of the broken plug, the location in the engine bay, and a picture of the components on the transmission?

Maybe this pic can help?

The pictures are not that great but with the picture on the left where if they moved closer together they would make a U, that is where it is broken. It almost appears that the two were one before breaking. There are two broken wire hanging out the breakage spot. I want to get the part replaced, don't know what to call it, and have never seen this part before. If I knew someone with a car like this I would as to look.

Those look like two identical plastic electrical connectors. You said that each connector has two wires. What are the wire colors for each?

Did those two connectors get ripped from wire harness in the engine bay? Or were they part of a sensor?

One of the connectors wires are solid red and white. The other connector is solid green and orange. It really appears that these two connectors connect to this ugly U shaped item and therefore are ultimately just wired together or to each other.

Can you find the connectors on a diagram? I appreciate your help, I really do.
