2001 honda accord check engine - d4 blinking

I went to 2 shops. The best was WTR Transmission in Buford, Ga ( WTR TRANSMISSIONS - Home ). I was told he's a Honda specialist. He had a great demeanor and when I showed up he said he wanted to take it out for a test drive. When he got back he told me immediately what was wrong. He said where the transmission meets the engine ( forgetting what that's called ) there is a fiberglass ring and that's deteriorating. He said there were also fiberglass pads for each gear that were deteriorating. He said the transmission was "dying a slow death" but that it wasn't going to strand me anywhere. He told me when the car got bad enough to where it really bothered me to bring it back.
Their pricing was 1/2 that of the other shop I saw in town and his warranty was 3x the length. I highly recommend these guys.

I also changed the oil .......but I have not used Honda oil.....
the transmission will shift better in manual mode...
Thank you very much.......
everything is back to normal with my car..........

666, go to someplace like AutoZone & have them read the error code. Get the actual code number (P1234 or something like that) not just the guy's explanation. You get rid of the CEL by fixing the problem.
You can clear the CEL by removing fuse #13 in the right dashboard fusebox (near the right-front door hinges). Remove that fuse for 20 or 30 seconds then put it back. But the CEL will come right back on if the problem isn't fixed.
