hello i am a new member. changing my timing belt i may have damaged my rear balance shaft. do they just slide out the side? what do they balance? there is a vibration at low rpm.

ahh...going to need a bit more info.

How is it damaged? IIRC, the rear balance shaft is driven through a geared sprocket, so maybe only that sprocket is damaged???

hello mr blake, thank you for the reply. the timing belt was on correctly. the balance shaft belt was timed 180 degrees off. i thought i damaged the rear shaft when i attempted to rotate the crank with the temporary alignment bolt in the rear balance shaft. after correctly installing the balance belt with the engine at tdc it eliminated the vibration. thanks for the help. thats what i get for going to the university of utube.

HAHA, glad it worked out OK. THANK YOU for coming back to post the end of the story. It's too many times we never find out how things worked out.
