A few days ago the light for my central radio/clock/climate control went dark. Previously, this had occured once or twice, but always came back on the next time I started the vehicle. I checked the manual for fuse references, but nothing links to this problem. The closest reference is a fuse for the clock, but all of the controls (radio/climate, etc.) work fine and I can see the digital readout if the sun is shining directly on the display.

Any thoughts before I pay the dealer folks an arm and a leg?

well it seems like a loose connection somewhere when the problem occurs try giving a tap on the fuses and relays located under the hood

 

I had the same thing happen with my 03 EX and ended up getting the entire radio replaced. It truely pissed me off.

 

bring it to the dealer, they will switch out your unit. Be careful though, my replacement now has other problems, so watch for it when you get it.
