Default 2003 air filter change, royal pain

I recently changed my air filter on my 03 accord and man that was a royal pain. They really crammed that sucker in there. The air hose from the filter back to the throttle body reallly had no where to go and it took some muscle to move the thing enough to pull the filter housing cover off. I thought of removing some of the lines connected to it (first on closest to the air box had a rubber portion connecting to a metal portion leading into the top of the engine) but I didnt have a Service manual and thought better not to go pulling wires. Someone suggested I unplug the first connected mentioned in the pervious sentence. Is it as simple as pulling out and then plugging back in? Is that the best approach?

Thanks guys!

That's what I've done, just disconnect the tubes. They're just crankcase vent lines associated with the PCV system.

Yes, it's a pain because the fender flange just gets in the way.
