I have to ask one question. If the light was not on before the work and it is now, why are you paying to fix it? I would think the shop that did the bearings would be "on the hook" for fixing or relacing anything that got broke during their repair. An ABS sensor can "look" fine but without testing you can't really know.

The ABS sensors are magnetic. They might not be "broken" but they might have collected a bunch of metal shavings stuck to the sensors. That would be very reasonable to expect the shop to have wiped them off before putting things back together.

I would have the code(s) scanned to figure out what the actual abs code is showing. The parts stores scanners may be able to get the abs code, but I am not sure. Maybe the shop that did the work could scan your code(s) for you.

Default brake and abs light

the shop that did the job is a small one guy type of shop almost like a friend doing the work type of deal ,he knows what to do but doesnt have all the high tech tools to scan and i have herd and seen on some of the forums that honda charges an arm and a leg to scan and check for these issues also most of the time its not what they say it is, the thing is that i dont want to start buying parts and then find out it was another part and just start buying parts i dont need.thanks

Don't have the shop manual for this year. I know when I bought the 95 the ABS was on, the owner told me this happened after a shop replaced the hub bearings and rotors. So I knew one of the two front sensors had an issue. A little time in the books and a DVM lead me to the left front sensor. I guess they pinched/broke one of the wires inside the lead as there was nothing built up or stuck on the sensor itself. Checked air gap, cleaned all of that before testing the leads where they connect under the hood.

I'm pretty sure there's 2 pins in the OBD-2 data-link-connector that you can short together with a paperclip & make the ABS lamp flash it's error code. That'll be a big help.
