. to answer your questions yes the alt light comes on until the engine starts.on full load the alt shows 14 volts as long as the car is in nutral once i put it in drive and start driving it to about 15 miles an hour then the alt goes down to 11 volts right away then i stop the car still the alt shows 11 then when i put it in nutral it jumps up to 14.5 volts right away.but if im stoped and hold the brake down in drive and rev it it wont go back up to 14 volts i just dont know whats wrong. thanks

That 11V w/ full load and idle sounds too low to me and Alt light not illuminating. I will check my 07 Accord under similar conditions and see what I get.

good luck

I just walked out to my garage, plugged voltage monitor in cigarette lighter, and started engine and idled. W/ everything (lights on bright, rear window heater, blower on max, AC), the voltage was still 13.8 volts.

From shop manual the following items should be checked:
1) check for poor connections and open/shorted wire(s) in the charging system.
2) excessive parasitic draw when the ignition switch is off and key removed. The multiplex control unit may take up to 10mins to turn off for some models.
3) Check for broken drive belt.
4) Check the drive belt auto-tensioner (loose might allow belt to slip)
5) Troubleshoot the alternator and regulator circuit (check alternator at AZ, ORiellys, et al)
6) Check for poor battery connections
7 ) Test the battery

Check easy things first, then proceed to more difficult.

good luck
