2004 Accord tansmission problem
Hi everybody,
I think I have a big problem here. I have a 04 v6 accord with about 150k miles on it and the transmission will not enguage. It will move a little in reverse but not forward at all. Looks like there's plenty of fluid. Time for a new transmission?
Thanks! Mark

Any stored codes?
Has the fluid been changed. Please refer to the manual or owners manual to be sure the trans fluid is being checked properly - some models the fluid has to be hot (kind of hard when it won't move?) and within one minute of shutting the car off.

The only automatic I had was 1998 4-cyl Accord. Yes, the owner's manual said to check the trans dipstick with it warmed up & turned off. But I also checked it cold and there wasn't a whole lot of difference in the level.

Is the D4 light flashing, or on, when it shouldn't be? The fluid should be checked after the engine is at operating temperature, then shut off, then check the level between 60 and 90 seconds. It only makes a slight difference, from completely cold, but it does make a little difference (pint lower maybe on the dipstick).
