I just got a 2013 Accord Touring model. So far, so good with one very minor but annoying exception- I can't disable beeps when making selections on the displays. Each time I turn the dial or press select button it beeps. I've been through all the settings and read through the manual but can't find a way to disable the beeps. I also searched the forums here but didn't find anything.

Am I the only person who can't figure out how to disable this annoying beeping? I don't want any audible feedback (beeps) when pressing buttons, making selections, etc.

Any help would be much appreciated!

 

Not wanting to sound simple, but have you contacted your Honda service people. After all this is a new car and others must be annoyed as well.

 

No, I didn't think of that. I usually know waaaaaay more about the products I buy than the people that sell them to me. BUT, that's actually a good idea! I'll let them try to figure it out. I have a feeling its going to be something super easy but it's certainly not obvious to me so far.

BTW, if the dealer can't figure it out, try rapping it a few times on the side with your hand. That used to fix TV's when I was a kid.

 

I got a response from the dealership:

"We see no way to disable the beeps. My tech also found no info on it in his manual. It appears honda did not give us the option to turn the beeps off."

Looks like the software developers at Honda never used the controls in the Accord that they wrote the software for. Oh well, bigger fish to fry...
