Default 2017 Accord Hybrid Transmission Strainer Location

I am in the need to replace my transmission fluid and cannot locate the strainer. Any information on Google pertaining to its location is vague at best. Can someone walk me through where it is located starting from the birds eye view of the engine compartment down to where it is? When it comes to DIY info on hybrids the internet is pretty much void of detailed information. Thanks in advance.

Welcome!

I'm moving this to General Tech where someone is more likely to see it & help.

I took a quick look at the parts drawings and they show the strainer but it's only shown with a couple parts and it's not at all obvious where it is in the overall engine bay. I hope someone knows...

Thanks Jim. It sounds like you found the same issue I ran into. I hope there is a DIYer or Honda tech out there who can help.

No, I never owned a hybrid. I just looked at the parts drawings at an on-line parts place... Most of the time those are good enough to show where something is located but this one doesn't show the bellhousing or transmission case or anything.

There is no birds-eye view unless you disassemble the transmission.

The ATF strainer for the e-CVT is attached to the valve body located inside of the transmission. It is not part of the regular vehicle maintenance. It is only accessed and replaced during a transmission disassembly and reassembly.

If you want to see the part illustration, then #4 is the part:

Only a fluid drain and fill is done as part of regular maintenance.

Also, be aware that the Hybrid's e-CVT is not the same as the CVT used on non-hybrid Accords. They both used different Honda transmission fluids.

The transmission fluid to use for the Hybrid's e-CVT is Honda DW-1.

Automatic transmission fluid capacity is 2.11 L (2.23 U.S. quarts) at change.
