2018 Accord - Auto Braking Randomly
Good Afternoon All,
After searching the forums I've decided to post. Apologize in advance if I missed a thread on this subject.
On 2 recent occasions, my 2018 Accord has "automatically" applied brakes for no apparent reason (quite an unnerving and scary experience). I have seen chatter on the web about this currently being an issue for 2018 & 19 Accord safety systems.
I have so far been successful in turning off CMBS after starting the car but it defaults to "on" once I start the car back up for a new trip. Anyone know how to disable it long term until I can get it checked out? Anyone had a similar experience?
Thank You in advance for any info anyone shares... appreciate it...

I suspect that the CMBS system is integrated into the PCM and doesn't have a stand-alone control module. It is possible a dealership could disable the system permanently with their scanner.
Looks like TSB 19-051 covers the adaptive cruise control not working due to something with the CMBS. Looks like there is a software update to fix this specific problem. Your problem could be software or the car is detecting a faulty signal from one of the sensors.
I think you best bet is to take to the dealership to get diagnosed or find a good independent shop that can handle this type of issue.
