3000 rpm accord, forget it!!!!!!
He is saying that instead of swapping the entire engines, you could swap the cylinder heads and have a 96/97 EX engine. The lower part of the block is the same between a f22b1 and f22b2.
You will have to use an EX ECU to have the v-tec working properly. I don't know what state you live in, but a 96 accord is required to have obd2, so emissions testing can scan the computer.
If you plan on keeping your accord as a 96 OBD2, you will need a 96/97 EX ECU. Your 96/97 DX distributor may work on the EX. Your existing wiring harness will work, but you will have to run wires from the V-tec.

Not to call you out or anything but do you even know how vtec works? And how pointless it is on sohc heads?? and why vtec is pointless with a sohc head? Have you even noticed ppl who do f22 builds are all f22a non vtec builds??? Just do some research be4 asking questions all the info you are gonna have a question about has all ready be put out there on the internet. If you noticed how no1 has really responded to you thread is cus this question has been answered time and time again. I’m not trying to be a d*ck but if I don't tell you this now someone else will and it won’t be as nice.

f22b1 timing belt
f22b1 header and downpipe
f22b1 intake mani
internal coil dizzy
someone correct me but I think you have to swap from auto a manual belt tenchner
Moderator- yea, I knew what he was talking about, and I live in California were smog emissions are a pain in the A**. Ok, so all I would really need is the ecu from the 96/97 accord ex, and Presto.
G22cd5- FYI, I am not a newbie to cars, and I actually knew this info, I was just curious if anybody on here has done the swap. Yea, I do know how vtec works and yea, I do know how pointless it is to build a F22b1, it's more of a pain to boost it and more expensive, leaving aside that the F22b2 has better compression for boosting. Oh, also. My previous engine had turbo, just letting you know, not calling YOU out or anything.

If you knew all the answers they why were you telling me that vatac won't work if you do the head swap? come on man It's cool tho bro no hard feelings. I’m just tired of answering questions that the magic little search engine can answer for me. But no seems to take time anymore to search then just want the answer right then and there.

You can use a f22a head and it will out flow any other f series head and your c/r is 8:8:1 great for boosting. And f22a heads are alot easyer to get your hands on too.
