4 cylinder 99 Honda Accord Ex Timing issues
To give you a run down I had a blown head gasket. I attempted to start it and didnt have the distributor installed correctly and sheared off the key ways to the distributor. I was able to retrieve both and bought a new one. After replacing it the car will start, but is running rough. I am getting black smoke from the exhaust and idle seems to be off. When trying to rev up the engine it stalls and then jumps up back and forth. Once I let off of the gas it will stall completely. I checked to make sure cylinder 1 is at TDC, and all of my marks line up. When the car is at operating temp, using the timing light it the TDC mark is showing up right on or a little after. This is an improvement from it being about 20 degrees off from before. I disconnected the battery and pulled the ECU fuse to achieve that adjustment. I dont know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked for codes?
Check fuel trims (LT and ST) for too high/low performance. Check fuel pressure for correct pressure. good luck |
