Just got this car back from my brother in law and it’s pretty rough. Just got new key made b/c old one got lost. Went and got a new battery threw it in hit the key and nothing at all. Any help appreciated. I’m not super knowledgeable when it comes to cars but learn fast with a little direction.
i should add it’s a manual, carbureted 2.0L

 

Nothing at all means that something is wrong with the starter circuit.

When you turn the key to the normal running position, but do not try to start the engine, does any of the dash lights, radio, headlights, etc work?

 

No lights our sound or anything
