Default 91 accord: oxygen sensor bad

according to my reading of the fault codes, i have a bad O2 sensor.
price for a new one is over $100.
can i get one from a junkyard off a newer model accord?

do i have to stay with 90-93 models?

thats a tune up part. used ones are not worth it and yes you pretty much have to stay within your generation.

Default 91 Oxy Sensor

Check Bosch at Rock Auto for upstream OEM for around $50.
Should have been changed 100k miles ago.

If you're game to perform a little wiring, you can order a universal O2 sensor off ebay for <$50 bucks and splice to your old O2 wiring harness. I've done this several vehicles w/ no problems.

good luck

Wink

Texas Honda has a good suggestion..use that instead of going for the junk yard part...

after reading some other posts, are there two oxygen sensors?
if so, which one would be indicated by the diagnostic codes?

No, only the 96 and later vehicles w/ OBD2 systems have two oxygen sensors; fore and aft of the catalytic converter. You only have one ahead of converter.

good luck

And, code 41 is for the heater built into the sensor. Take a multi-meter & measure resistance between the 2 same-color (black?) wires of the sensor. It should be between 10 & 40 ohms. If that's OK, then the problem is in the wiring of the car.
