91 LX power loss

Default 91 LX power loss

ok so i jst got this 91 accord drives fine n everythin. but sometimes it tends to lose power. by power loss i mean ill be drivin n i can step on the gas pedal all the way n t wont pick up than a second or 2 later it picks up. even when im stopped at a hill n try givin it the gas goes no where for like a a sec or two. any ides will be appreaciated

no expert, but may be a bad catalytic converter. ive seen them go bad and not let exhaust out until there was enough pressure to force it through. also check the basics...plugs, wires and all that too. if you just got the car, its hard to tell if any of it has been changed recently. then there is a little sensor-type thing in the dist. cap..it can go bad. has something to do with your spark. (cant remember what its called right now..something control module or something like that) i would check those things first.

What gear are you stepping on the gas? how fast are you going? what's the engine rpm? 90-93 accord engines tend to lag a bit until about 2500-3000 rpm. that's where they start to hit their power bands.

the person i bought it from said the did a whole tune up includin spark plugs, wires, cap n rotor. but tom. ill try n chek it n see.
