'92 Accord 5sp. Lurching into 1st & 2nd. Jerky idle?
I've got a '92 5 speed manual Accord. It's been running good since I
got it two years ago. Recently, however somebody tried to sabotage it while I was on vacation, because when I got back and started driving it again, it started acting jerky and lurching into shifts. And not idling properly sometimes, Sputtering or rough idle. I looked under my hood, and found that someone had attached a pair of needle nose pliers to one of the vacuum hoses near the firewall so that it was pinched off. I removed it obviously, and the issue seemed to go away. Now a few weeks later, the same problem has manifested, but much worse this time. Any ideas what is happening? And how to correct? |
Welcome to forum. I've the exact same car, and I also leave it unlocked.
Unfortunately, I can't help with your mechanical tampering issue (wow); someone likely will. |
It'll probably help if you point out which hose was pinched off (cellphone photo?) Not sure I can help - not real experienced with 1992-ish Accords.
Lurching into shifts is terminology usually used for automatic transmissions not shifting very smoothly. Maybe explain what you mean by that... |
