Default 92 accord auto trans

when the car starts in the morning going to work the trans will cycle though all the gears. Coming home after work it will not shift up to 3rd or 4th so on a 40mph road im running 3k rpm in 2nd gear.
I Checked the fluid it it looks fairly new/clean, I even put a bottle of lucas transs fluid, and when it goes into 3rd or 4th it runs 3=400 less rpm but i still have a problem with it shifting to 3rd or 4th after it has been raised to normal temp and then stopped.
Also I had to drive for 90 mins on a trip and i felt it shift down to 2nd after about an hr.
Cooolant is full
there is maybe 1500 miles on my oil
im full on trans fluid
thanks for any advice

Any stored codes?

Have you checked the solenoids?

Then I'd suggest a drain and fill...or two or three with Honda trans fluid.

Look in the Common DIY Threads (second from the top) In there you can find out how to check for codes. There is also a link where to get a manual for the car.

See if these get you going.

Huh? On the 90 there is a display on the later you count the flashes of the D4 light....pretty sure that is covered in the link.

EDIT:
  1. Make sure that the 'S' or 'D4' shifter status light on the instrument panel lights up for at least two seconds, or blinks after the key is turned on.
  2. Turn the key off.
  3. Jump the two 'Service Check Connector ' A, B pins together and turn the key to ON (II.)
  4. Watch the 'S' or 'D4' light for flashes.
So there is no D4 or S light on the car? Guessing is expensive.

Check Engine Light= CEL

D4 Light = the indicator in the "center" where it lights up what gear the trans is in.
P, N , D4, ect...(if you have Sport mode then that would be the S light)

Does that help?

So when you jump the connector-what happens? Which lights do what on the dash.

Have you tried cleaning the solenoids?

When was the lat time the fluid was changed.
